What FleetCalc does
The fleet calculator answers one question in rands: does this car actually pay? It models both sides of the business — a fleet owner renting a vehicle to drivers, and a driver paying weekly rent — and shows monthly profit, the break-even month, walkaway cash after resale, and an estimated SARS tax bill. The fuel calculator prices your monthly kilometres at the official board price, and the expense tracker keeps a running, SARS-ready log of what you actually spend and earn.
Where the numbers come from
- Fuel prices — the monthly inland/coastal board published by the Automobile Association of South Africa. The calculators read the current board automatically; see this month's prices.
- Platform commission — Uber's typical 25% and Bolt's typical 20%, adjustable to whatever is actually coming off your statements.
- Service tiers — Go/X/Comfort earnings multipliers are directional estimates (±15%) based on SA market rates. Set your own hourly or weekly figure for precision.
- Tax — the 2026 SARS individual brackets, the R95,750 tax threshold and the primary rebate, plus the 20% wear-and-tear allowance. Estimates only — confirm with a practitioner.
- Everything else is yours to change: rent, finance terms, insurance, maintenance intervals, unplanned hits. The defaults are realistic starting points, not the truth — your inputs are.
Privacy, plainly
Calculator inputs live in the page URL and on your device — nothing you type is sent anywhere. The expense tracker saves to a private key stored in your bookmark link. We ask before switching on anonymous visit counts, we never sell data, and we don't track your trips, locations or earnings.
Analytics, plainly
When you press "Allow" on the consent banner, this site measures which pages are visited, what gets clicked and how long pages are open, and stores your IP address with the visit — all in a database on this server, used only to improve FleetCalc. Nothing is sold, shared or sent to third parties. Press "No thanks" and nothing about your visit is recorded.
